About No1 Food Prep
No1 Food Prep is an independent UK website about meal prep: how to plan it, cook it, store it safely and actually enjoy eating it through a busy week. We write practical guides and, in time, recipes for people who want a simpler routine around food without being sold a miracle.
What you will find here
Everything on the site is built around one idea: a little planning makes the rest of the week easier. Our guides are written to be used in a real kitchen, on a real budget, with real time pressures.
- Planning guides to help you choose meals, write one shopping list and prep without wasting food. Start with meal prep for beginners: a simple first week.
- Food-safety basics for cooling, storing, freezing and reheating what you cook, based on Food Standards Agency and NHS guidance. Read how to store and reheat meal prep safely.
- Healthy-eating guides that stay practical and food-focused. See our healthy eating guides.
- Checklists for comparing meal prep services, including our halal meal prep checklist and guides for London and Manchester.
- A simple meal-idea planner on our homepage to help you pick a starting point for the week.
Are you selling meal prep?
Not yet. We plan to offer our own meal prep in the future, but nothing is available to order on this website today. When that changes, we will only publish details such as menus, ingredients and allergen information once they have been checked and confirmed. Until then, this site is here to share knowledge, not to sell.
How we write our guides
Practical first
We focus on what helps you get food on the table: planning, shopping, batch cooking, storage and reheating. If a step does not make your week easier or your food safer, it does not belong in the guide.
Authoritative sources
For food safety and healthy eating we rely on official UK guidance, mainly the Food Standards Agency and the NHS. We link to the pages we used and note when we last checked them.
No invented claims
We do not publish made-up nutrition figures, calorie counts, health promises or reviews. Our content is general information, not medical or dietary advice. If you have a medical condition, an allergy or an individual eating plan, follow the advice of your GP, dietitian or healthcare team.
Keeping guides up to date
Official guidance changes, and we would rather fix an error than leave it in place. Each guide notes when its sources were last checked, and we update our content when the guidance it relies on changes.
